Biographie

Marlene Knut is a provenance researcher at the LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur Münster. After studying cultural studies, art history, and provenance research in Lüneburg, Hamburg, and Bonn, she is currently conducting a project-based investigation of the museum’s collection of decorative arts in Münster to identify cultural property confiscated as a result of Nazi persecution. Following the project, she will also focus intensively on art in the context of other injustices, including objects from colonial contexts. This area will play an important role at the museum in the future (Forum der Völker, Werl; lacquer art collection)
