Biographie

Jolanda Saal is an art historian and a doctoral researcher at the University of Münster, where she is part of the DFG Research Training Group “Access to Cultural Goods in the Digital Change.” Her research is situated at the intersection of colonial heritage, restitution, and questions of access to cultural goods, and is embedded in the transnational constellations of the Cold War. In her dissertation, she examines state museums as key sites for negotiating colonial heritage. Focusing on decolonization processes in the 1970s and early 1980s, she analyzes these as transnational processes of negotiation shaped by the interplay of politics, museum practices, and postcolonial power relations.
