Biographie

Joël Zouna is an urban planner and a PhD candidate in art history at the École normale supérieure de Paris – PSL, as well as at the Technische Universität Berlin. Under the joint supervision of Bénédicte Savoy and Charlotte Guichard, his dissertation focuses on the circulation of colonial collections, with a particular emphasis on Cameroonian collections held at the Field Museum in Chicago, United States. He is a doctoral researcher at the Institut national d’histoire de l’art in Paris, where he contributes to the project “African Art during the Second World War: Spoliations, Destructions, Dispersals,” coordinated by Yaëlle Biro. He is also interested in contemporary exhibition practices.
