Didier Houénoudé is a professor of art history at the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin. His areas of interest include contemporary African art, issues related to cultural heritage and museums, as well as urban planning and the development of African cities. He also works as a research associate at the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD) and serves as acting deputy director of the Ethnographic Collections of Saxony (SES). Didier Houénoudé is also a member of the advisory board of the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz.
