Biographie

Alexandra Loumpet Galitzine is an archaeologist and anthropologist. She was a lecturer and researcher at the University of Yaoundé from 1995 to 2008 and is a member of CESSMA (UMR 245). She has co-coordinated several international and collaborative research programs, including ReTours (2020–2026) on restitution. Her research focuses on mobility (people, objects, signs, exile) and on processes of heritagization in and from the Bamoun Kingdom and the Grassfields of Cameroon. Over the past three decades, she has been involved in several museum restructuring and inventory projects in Cameroon (National Museum, Museum of the Bamoun Kings, etc.) and has documented numerous European, public, and missionary collections and archives.She has also published numerous contributions and has served as a scientific advisor for various contemporary art exhibitions.
