Sarah Negumbo

Biographie

Sarah Negumbo is the Director of the Namibia Library & Archives Service and a PhD candidate at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. Her doctoral research focuses on The Legacy and Cultural Significance of Hendrik Witbooi’s Bible and Whip: Cultural Heritage Restitution in Namibia, sacred objects that were looted during the 1893 German colonial attack on Hornkranz and held in Germany for over a century before their return to Namibia in 2019. Her work explores cultural heritage restitution, provenance research, the symbolic, historical, and political significance of these sacred objects for both the Nama community and the Namibian nation.
