Lea Lili Kemegne Simo holds a PhD in cultural history. Her research interests include the history of mentalities, collective memory, epistemology and gender, with a particular focus on the identity shifts and practices that emerged from the colonial history of Africa, and of Cameroon in particular. Her work centres on invisibilised minorities, namely communities and groups marginalised on grounds that include gender. Through its epistemic scope, it is situated within the field of decolonial studies. It also examines processes of heritagisation, especially of the know-how and ways of being produced by minorities and communities at risk of disappearing, such as the Mambila. She favours endogenous forms of heritagisation, conceived and led by and for local populations.
