Biographie
Margareta von Oswald is an anthropologist (PhD, EHESS Paris/Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) working at the intersection of academic research, collections, and society, currently at the new Center for Advanced Studies inherit. heritage in transformation at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and as a research associate at the Centre Marc Bloch, Berlin. In her research and curatorial practice, she is interested in the processes of negotiation around difficult heritage and questions how museums try to become truly democratic places. In 2023, she initiated the Académie des Traces program with an international collective of researchers and heritage professionals, which opens up spaces for dialogue on colonial collections between the European and African continents.
