As the sponsor of the Franco-German Provenance Research Fund for Cultural Property from Sub-Saharan Africa, the Centre Marc Bloch is publishing a new call for projects aimed at promoting the establishment of international research teams and strengthening existing cooperation on provenance research between France, Germany, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
This call for proposals is open to all researchers, museum professionals, experts, and members of civil society who wish to carry out networking activities in various forms: staff exchanges and other mobility programs, workshops, joint teaching activities, and publications.
This funding supports activities to be carried out in 2025 and 2026. Teams can apply for up to EUR 15,000 for projects lasting a maximum of 12 months.
Funding will be awarded to applications that have the potential to form new research teams or strengthen existing cooperation with researchers and museum professionals from sub-Saharan Africa. Particular emphasis will be placed on applications with a clear Franco-German dimension and on initiatives by young researchers, museum professionals, and civil society.
This call for proposals supplements the fund’s annual call for projects. Funded networking and partnership projects may lead to a follow-up project. Applications can be submitted by email to Dr. Julie Sissia by the first deadline on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
